Child Dental Care
Free dental care is provided to all children from birth to Year 8 schooling, at the school or community dental clinics. Dental therapists provide dental examinations, fillings, extraction of primary teeth, applications of fluorides, placement of fissure sealants and oral health education and promotion. We regularly get referrals from the school and community dental clinics for treatment that is beyond the scope of dental therapists as we are able to carry out more complicated procedures. We also provide emergency treatment for children who need to be seen outside the hours of school dental clinic.
If your teenager is in Form 3, (age 12 to 13 yrs) to 18 years old and is a resident of New Zealand, they are entitled to FREE treatment with us.
This covers one examination per calendar year and most basic dental treatment. The only treatments not covered are Braces or Orthodontic treatment, or treatment that is required as a result of an accident (in which case ACC will help cover some costs).
To enrol your child, call into the practice or telephone 09-5745789 and request your child be enrolled in the Dental Benefits Scheme and we will take care of the rest for you. Its as easy as that!
